And in 2019 you can return to the Stubai Alps to complete the remaining 3 summits, on completion you will have earnt a trophy to reward your efforts.

This all female trip will be led by Charlotte Dovey IML, as you submerse yourself in the Stubai Alps in the heart of Austria. Our new alpine challenge will take you to the most unique mountains of the Stubai Alps. Each one has a distinctive character. On the Stubai 7 summits part 1 we will undertake: Elfer, Series, Rinnenspitze, and Hoher Burgstall. Each day will incude a full day of walking with some sections of scrambling. Throughout the week you can enjoy Austrian mountain culture at its best in the sleepy Stubai valley. As well as enjoying the mountains you can sample Austrian beer, taste local cuisine and immerse yourself in the Alpine environment.

The Stubai 7 summits part 1 includes the ascent of 4 mountains and one rest day. The days listed below provide a rough itinerary to give you an idea of what the week looks like however due to the ever changing weather in the mountains the itinerary may be ran in a different order.

Hoher Burgstall

Hoher Burgstall (2611 m) is known as the convincing one, convincingly showing the diversity of the Stubai mountains. This is a shorter day but still offers amazing views of the surrounding ranges. After catching the lift up we will walk a few hours to gain the summit and return to catch the lift down.

Rinnenspitze (3003 m), the enticing one, offering a big reward for the effort exerted, “opening the gate to the wored of glaces and all their beauty”. Today we will tackle a 3000 metre peak. An early start is required to begin the walk up the valley to the famous Franz Senn hutte. After a coffee break we make our way up the lake and continue on scrambling terrain to the summit. Returning to the valley at the end of the day and back to the comforts of the hotel.

Rest day

A day to enjoy the local culture and rest your legs for tomorrow’s adventures.

Serles (2717 m), the dominating one. The ruler of the Tyrolean mountains, who reigns the summits from the Stubai Alps all the way to the city of Innsbruck, an isolated pyramid of rock that stands out for miles around. We begin the walk traversing around the mountain rising up to a saddle looking down on the Stubai valley. Then continue up to the summit with views all the way to Innsbruck, and return the same way.

Elfer (2505 m) known as the shy one, seemingly not attracting too much attention you have to hike up Elfer to fully appreciate all of its glory. Looking small and unsuspecting from the valley once on the summit the the towers of rock unveil themselves. To start the day we catch a short lift to get up above the tree line then walk up passing the Elfer hutte. Continuing onto rocker ground up into the spires of the mountain returning the same way from the summit.

As a record of your achievements you collect a stamp from the summit of each mountain. On the completion of part 1 you will receive a 7 summits tshirt and then keep your card for part 2.

Who is this for?

This is a fun but challenging week. This is a all female week (mixed group available, see menu) and you should be of a reasonable fitness and have experience on grade 1 Scrambling terrain in the UK and have a good head for heights (routes such as the CMD arete, Crib Goch would be good previous experience). Due to the nature of the ground on this trip, we offer a free training day in Snowdonia (North Wales) to give you the relevant skills needed to tackle such a challenge.

Although we may use additional equipment to protect ourselves during the more “tasty” scrambling sections, this is not a climbing trip, and no skills related to this are a requirement.
