Experience Slovenia like never before…

If you love new adventures, this is the place for you, come and explore Slovenia the only country with love in its name! Tucked away in the heart of Europe Slovenia has so much to offer. With this specially crafted 5 day tour we aim to show you the best of Slovenia. From the towering peaks of the Julian Alps to the emerald waters of the Soca valley. A country steeped in history, with delicious culinary delights and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In its splendour, it is the first country as a whole to have been declared a green tourist destination. What more could you ask for…

If that’s not enough, two days of the Slovenia tour will take in Slovenia’s highest mountain Triglav. The heart and pride of Slovenia, it is a local tradition for every Slovenian to climb Triglav at least once in a life time! The sacred Slovenian peak even proudly stands as the coat of arms on the national flag. This is your chance to stand on the tallest mountain in Slovenia whilst indulging in their culture all packed into the same tour…

The best of Slovenia tour includes four days walking and one sightseeing day, making the most of what Slovenia has to offer. The days listed below provide a rough itinerary to give you an idea of what the week looks like however, due to the ever changing weather in the mountains the itinerary may run in a different order.

Arrive at the hotel in Bled and meet your fellow team members. Enjoy a tasty evening meal and meet your guide for the week.

Triglav (2 days)

Triglav (2864 m), a true ruler of the Julian Alps, there are no other surrounding peaks that compare to its towering height. Surrounded by deep forested valleys on all sides, standing on its summit shows nothing but views as far as the eye can see. We will take two days to summit Triglav, with an overnight stay in a mountain refuge, summiting on one of the two days depending on the whether conditions. This peak will include hiking, and scrambling, an amazing adventure in itself. The scrambling on Triglav leaves nothing to the imagination, airy ridges and hands on sections wind up its dominating summit. Get an iconic photo next to the unique infamous summit shelter, and even a stamp as a reminder of your efforts.

Soca Valley

We will spend two days exploring the delights of the Soca valley. Walking on trails steeped in the history of World War One, to the pristine valleys lit up with the emerald glow of the Soca river. Forested valley floors with towered rocky mountain tops provide breath taking panoramas in every direction. With two full days hiking and two nights spent in lovely three star hotels, nestled in picturesque villages along the way.

Sightseeing day

A day to recover from your adventures and explore all Bled has to offer. Famous for its turquoise lake, embellished with a steepled church on a tiny tear-shaped island, set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains it is stunningly beautiful. Returning home this evening or the following morning depending on your flight.

Who is this for?

This is a fun but challenging week, you should be of a reasonable fitness and have experience on grade 1 Scrambling terrain in the UK and have a good head for heights (routes such as the CMD arete, Crib Goch would be good previous experience). Due to the nature of the ground on this trip, we offer a free training day in Snowdonia (North Wales) to give you the relevant skills needed to tackle such a challenge.

Although we may use additional equipment to protect ourselves during the more “tasty” scrambling sections, this is not a climbing trip, and no skills related to this are a requirement.
